Answers to Frequently Asked Questions
My full fee for individuals is $180 and for couples/families is $200. Sessions are typically 50 minutes, with some clients benefitting from longer 75 minute sessions which are $250. I do reserve some sliding scale spots and I'm happy to share additional resources if I can't accommodate a session fee that works for you. Those who can pay the full fee help make therapy accessible to others who cannot.
How much does therapy cost?
Cancellations that are less than 48 hours in advance are charged the full session fee. I will do my best to accommodate rescheduling requests within the same week. However, if a request to reschedule is made within the 48 hour window and we are not able to reschedule, I will charge the full session fee. I do not charge for late cancellations due to illness (either yours or your dependent).
What if I need to cancel a session?
Does our availability match? Can we meet online?
I see clients virtually and am happy to work with people living anywhere in California and Washington state. I offer daytime and evening sessions Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
I do not bill any insurance directly, and I am not in network with any insurance providers. I can provide you with a Superbill to submit to your insurance for reimbursement.
To cover therapy, insurance companies require that every patient receives a mental health diagnosis that remains in your medical record indefinitely. Insurance companies use your diagnosis to impose limits to the number of sessions you are allowed. These limits are informed by financial bottom lines, not by patient outcomes or on the data we have on the efficacy of psychotherapy.
By paying for therapy out of pocket, you are free from session limits and diagnostic criteria for coverage - which protects your privacy and allows you to get care that addresses your mental health concerns.
